At Debono NZ, we really believe that wooden rollers are the future in spearfishing for a number of reasons. In a standard rail gun, the rubber will only pull the shaft until the rubbers go slack which leaves an almost redundant section of speargun barrel where there is no pull. With rollers, because of the pretension, they pull the shaft the entire length of the barrel which optimises the speargun length, it means you can have a shorter gun that is easier to transport around and move in the water. They also offer reduced recoil due to the load being equal and opposite on the top and bottom of the speargun.
